Troubleshooting Common Issues

Connection refused or server not responding.

If you've entered your login details correctly but still have trouble connecting:

  1. Check provider status page: Several proxy providers offer a status page to see if their system is experiencing any issues.
  2. For anyIP.io, you can check the real-time uptime here: https://status.anyip.io
  3. Contact support: If the status page shows everything is okay, you can then reach out to your proxy provider's support team for further troubleshooting.

Connection issues?

The most common reason for proxy connection failures is an incorrect URL:PORT combination. To ensure a successful connection, please verify your authentication details.

Why Potatso?

There are two main issues when using proxies natively on iOS:

  • First, you’ll only be able to configure a proxy one at a time. There is no feature to configure multiple profiles. This can be a real pain when you need to switch between different accounts.
  • Secondly, some applications can bypass the proxy, compromising your anonymity instantly

You can easily fix those issues by using Potatso. It’s a popular iOS app that allows you to manage your network settings and use proxy servers.

Here are some reasons why you might recommend it to a user:

  • Easy to use: Potatso has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to set up and use proxy servers.
  • Powerful features: Potatso supports a variety of proxy protocols, including Shadowsocks, ShadowsocksR, HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5, and SOCKS5 over TLS. It also has features like smart routing and custom DNS that can help you improve your online experience.
  • Secure: Potatso is designed to protect your privacy and security. It encrypts your traffic and prevents your ISP from tracking your online activity.
  • Free: The best reason to use it! Potatso is a free app, so you can try it out without any risk.

Overall, Potatso is a great app for anyone who wants to take control of their network settings and improve their online experience. And for those looking for even better control on their proxy, have a look at our Shadowrocket guide.

What’s a proxy?

A proxy server acts as an intermediary between your computer and the websites you visit.

When browsing on internet, your request is first sent to the proxy server, which then forwards it to the website on your behalf.

This can offer several benefits:

  • Privacy: By hiding your real IP address, a proxy server can protect your online privacy.
  • Security: Some proxy servers can filter harmful content and block malicious websites.
  • Access to blocked content: Proxies can help you bypass restrictions and access websites that are blocked in your region.
  • Improved performance: Proxy servers can cache frequently accessed web pages, reducing load times.
