# Proxy Profiles, Users & Bulk Generation

> Understand the difference between profiles, proxy users (members), and generated proxy configurations. Learn where to add them, plan member limits, why proxy users cannot be deleted, and how to generate proxies in bulk for many states or cities.

The Proxies page in the dashboard uses three related concepts: the main account, proxy users, and profiles. Generated proxy configurations come from profiles. This page explains what each one is, what it does not do, and how to generate proxies in bulk.

## How the pieces fit together

| Concept | What it is | What it is not |
| :- | :- | :- |
| Main account | The anyIP account you log in to. It holds the subscription and the bandwidth (GB). | |
| Proxy user (member) | A set of proxy credentials (`user_XXXX` and a password) under the main account. | A dashboard login, or a count of proxies or IPs. |
| Profile | A saved proxy configuration built on a proxy user: location, proxy type, session, and other parameters. | A separate account, a separate login, or a way to get a larger IP pool. |
| Generated proxy configuration | A line produced from a profile, such as `portal.anyip.io:1080:user_XXXX,...:PASSWORD`. | A numeric IP address. |

The dashboard and other docs pages also call proxy users "members" or "team members". These terms refer to the same thing.

## Profiles

A profile is a way to organize and manage different proxy configurations under the same main account. Each profile has its own settings, such as location, proxy type, session, and other parameters.

* All profiles stay under the same main account and use the bandwidth from that account.
* Creating more profiles does not create separate accounts or separate dashboard logins.
* Profiles do not change the size of the IP pool.

### Profiles and the IP pool

The number of profiles has no effect on how many IPs are available. The IP pool depends on how you configure location targeting. Targeting a whole country gives you a larger pool than targeting a region, city, or ASN.

### Create a profile

1. Open the [Proxies page](https://anyip.io/account/proxies).
2. Click **+ Add Profile**.
3. Fill in the form: name, proxy type, location, and the other options you need.
4. In the right column, set how many proxies you need, the delimiter, and other options.
5. Click **Save profile**. You can then export or copy your credentials.

You can also create a profile directly at [https://anyip.io/account/proxies/create](https://anyip.io/account/proxies/create).

If you need the same IP across requests, enable a sticky session in the profile. A proxy username without a `session_` parameter rotates and can use a different IP on each request. Create the proxy from the profile, select the country and any other targeting you need, enable a sticky session, and copy the generated proxy from there. See [Sticky vs. Rotating Sessions](/docs/guides/sessions-and-rotation) for details.

## Proxy users (members)

A proxy user is a set of credentials used for the proxy connection itself. Profiles are created from a proxy user, so every profile uses that proxy user's `user_XXXX` and password.

### Proxy users do not log in to the dashboard

Proxy users do not have their own login to the anyIP dashboard. Only the main account owner logs in to the dashboard and manages proxy users and profiles.
If you add a proxy user for a co-worker, give them the proxy credentials you generate for that proxy user. They can use those credentials in their app or tool, but not to sign in at [anyip.io/account](https://anyip.io/account/).

### Member limits per plan

The number of proxy users you can have depends on your plan.

| Plan | Members (proxy users) |
| :- | :- |
| Micro | Up to 2 |
| Basic | Up to 5 |
| Pro | Up to 10 |
| Enterprise | Unlimited |

The member limit is not a limit on proxies. One proxy user can have many profiles and generate as many proxy configurations as you need. Plans are monthly subscriptions with an amount of bandwidth, not a number of IPs. A top-up adds GB to your current plan but does not add members. See [Billing & Data](/docs/guides/billing-and-data) for plan details.

### Add a proxy user

1. Go to [https://anyip.io/account/proxies/users](https://anyip.io/account/proxies/users).
2. Click the add user button.

The add option is available only while your account has fewer proxy users than your plan allows. If you have reached the limit for your plan, the option does not appear. To add more, upgrade to a plan with a higher member limit.

### Proxy users cannot be deleted

You cannot delete a proxy user on any plan. Instead, you can:

* Disable the proxy user so it can no longer connect.
* Change the proxy user password.

Existing proxy users remain on the account after a plan change.

### Activate or disable a proxy user

A disabled proxy user cannot connect, and every profile built from it fails, even when your account still has data.

1. Open the [Proxies page](https://anyip.io/account/proxies).
2. Go to the **Proxy users** tab.
3. Open the option menu for the proxy user.
4. Select activate or disable, depending on what you need.

Once a proxy user is active, all profiles created from it work again.

## Generate proxies in bulk

Use the Proxy List Generator to produce many proxy configurations from one profile.

1. Make sure you are on the [Proxies page](https://anyip.io/account/proxies).
2. Click the profile you want to use.
3. Find the Proxy Generator in the profile.
4. Set the number of proxies you need.
5. Copy or export the list and paste it into your tool, for example AdsPower.

Each line uses a different session name, so each line is a separate sticky session. Lines can look nearly identical because only the trailing session characters differ.

### The generator outputs configurations, not numeric IPs

anyIP provides a list of proxy configurations, not a list of IP addresses. Every line uses the hostname `portal.anyip.io` and your username with flags. You cannot get a batch of numeric IP addresses for a location such as California. The IP is assigned when you connect through the configuration.
A generated list looks like this:

```text theme={null}
portal.anyip.io:1080:user_XXXX,type_mobile,country_us,region_arizona,city_phoenix,sesstime_10080,session_abc1:PASSWORD
portal.anyip.io:1080:user_XXXX,type_mobile,country_us,region_arizona,city_phoenix,sesstime_10080,session_abc2:PASSWORD
portal.anyip.io:1080:user_XXXX,type_mobile,country_us,region_arizona,city_phoenix,sesstime_10080,session_abc3:PASSWORD
```

### One profile per state or city

A profile targets one location. One profile cannot output proxies spread across several states or cities. If a profile does not target a specific state or city, the proxies switch from city to city.
To get proxies in many locations, create one profile for each target:

* For 20 proxies in each US state, create one profile per state and generate 20 proxies from each.
* For proxies in specific cities, create one profile per city.

### Narrow targeting and ASN

You can add an ASN to a profile, but each extra filter reduces the number of peers available. Some ASNs, combined with a city target, do not have enough peers and the proxies fail to connect. If a profile with region, city, and ASN targeting does not work, remove or change the ASN. For example, T-Mobile US is `asn_21928`. See [Location Targeting](/docs/guides/location-targeting) for the available flags.

## Sticky sessions for many accounts

All plans include sticky proxies. For long-running accounts, you can set the sticky session duration up to 7 days (`sesstime_10080`).
The 7 days are a maximum, not a guarantee. anyIP uses real devices, so an IP can go offline at any time. When that happens, anyIP replaces it with an IP from the same area and ISP.
How you target affects the result:

* To maximize how long a session keeps the same IP, target the whole country without region, city, or ASN.
* To keep replacements consistent, for example so an account does not move from Atlanta to Los Angeles, set the city and the ASN you want. This narrows the pool.

See [Sticky vs. Rotating Sessions](/docs/guides/sessions-and-rotation) for session flags such as `sessasn_strict` and `sessreplace_false`.

<Note>
  **Generated proxies still need an active plan**

  The generator produces valid-looking lines even when your account cannot connect. If generated proxies do not work, confirm that your subscription is active, that you have GB remaining, and that the proxy user behind the profile is active. See [Troubleshooting](/docs/guides/troubleshooting).
